Why do you need to practice pushing hands?
In the Taijiquan system, the invention of Taiji Push Hands is a very civilised and scientific creation. Taiji Push Hands does not need a ring, does not need a referee, and is not restricted by the venue, but is particularly good for exercising one’s physique.
Every weekend or holiday, many Taiji Push Hands enthusiasts gather in the park, they communicate with each other and take turns to push hands, there is no difference of gateway and faction. They are civilised and polite and learn from each other. After the handshake, they know each other’s level. The lower ones learn from the higher ones and learn from each other, without any arrogance or conservatism. These pushers and friends are really happy.

I asked two retired old men, with white hair and good health, who have been practising Taijiquan and Push Hands for more than forty years. He said that Chinese Push Hands is really good and he is very interested in it, and he comes out every day to exchange ideas. Especially on holidays, he can push from morning to 3 o’clock in the afternoon, and many young people can’t push him. They take turns to push each other and can play for 3-4 hours without getting tired.
It is very interesting to see how many different styles and techniques a pusher can experience. They all know in their hearts which push is the best and most skilful, and never try to win or lose, or pursue a competition as a goal. Therefore, Tai Chi Push Hands is also an excellent form of exercise suitable for promotion at home and abroad.
